With the rising living costs these days, most households can make do with some additional income. Food, electricity, car costs are all ordinary expenses which seem to be rising and more and more people tend to cut back trying to make ends meet, however why should that be the case? Instead of trying to cut costs why not simply earn more with an additional income and it is not to say that you work more hours or get a second job because then you will simply be tired and paying even more tax! Did you know that there can be alternatives such as making money using the internet and working in your spare time online, so you can have an additional income without cutting back on necessities and changing your lifestyle?

These days there are less and less jobs on the market, people with major qualifications are on salaries lower than a junior would have earned a few years ago. You do not need premises, there is no rent, rates, electricity or all of those other costs usually involved in setting up a business. Most people have a computer with internet connection, so you already probably have what is required for you to get started and earn an additional income!

They say that good things come to those who wait and the same applies to setting up an online business. Although you can make money straight away, I would always recommend that you are earning a consistent income before you quit your job. Yes, that is the long term goal, to leave your job and never have to return to it but we must remember not to make haste decisions.

By running your own business not only will you earn an additional income but you will also have many other additional benefits of working from home. You will have the flexibility of doing what you want, when you want to. You can learn new skills and learn them at your own pace, in addition you will be able to learn how to operate a business so these skills will stay with you for life. They can be applied to any business or venture, even if it is not online so you never know, you may be the next Branson or Sugar. By having an additional income you can enjoy a much better lifestyle, rather than cutting back on necessities such as food, it is something to consider if you are feeling the credit crunch because the rich keep getting richer and the poor, poorer.
