With the rising living costs these days, most households can make do with a second income. Food, electricity, car costs are all ordinary expenses which seem to be rising and more and more people tend to cut back trying to make ends meet, however why should that be the case? Instead of trying to cut costs why not simply earn more with a second income and it is not to say that you work more hours or get a second job because then you will simply be tired and paying even more tax! 10 Get Rich Quick Schemes

1. The fastest way to Get Rich Quick is to Charge for your time and work as a consultant. Find the people or businesses who desperately need your advice. If social media, knitting or business strategy. People are starting businesses every day who know nothing of, and something more about your business. Look around you.

2. Get Rich Quick by charging per hour of your time as a coach. To be honest, not much difference between a coach and consultant, but in our case we will consider a person who helps coach the personal lives of the subjects, and a consultant with more strategic and / or business.

Go out and help someone declutter their homes, to optimize your time, get a couple more quotes, lose 15 pounds – it’s all fair game. Personal issues such as these are the points of great pain for almost everyone you know (not perfect). People are very willing to pay for a solution. Who does not?

Find the ones who genuinely need it. Send out an email to a group of friends asking if they know someone who needs help (people often won’t nominate themselves), call some of your passionate people and connectors, ask around your office, put up an ad on Craig’s List or mention it on your blog if you have one. You don’t need to mount a massive marketing effort, we’re just looking for one client.

3. Hold an online seminar or workshop. Pick something that excites you or grab one of your most life-changing books. Outline the key messages and actions and make a simple powerpoint deck out of it. Everyone could use a refresher in stuff like that.

Promote the event the same way as mentioned above. 4. Create a video series. Start interviewing people inspiring. Not only is it something else will see, but you get to talk and communicate with Rock Stars is the best part. David Siteman Garland has done a remarkable job with this on the climb to the top. These will later be packaged and sold as a standalone product.

5. Create an online course. Have some fun with like a Virtual Cookery School or maybe make it simple and creative. Develop these once and they make money for a years to come.

6. Teach someone one-on-one. Tutor someone on a topic you know inside and out. Parents are always looking for the person who can provide a breakthrough for their child. Do it in person or better yet, get virtual with it. Check out eduFire, TeachStreet or Mindflash for teaching folks one-on-one or one-to-many. Start teaching one person at a time and then grow from there. You could also use these as a platform to Get Rich Quick by preparing for the seminar you developed above and using the same content repeatedly.

7. Write a guide. Maybe it’s a PDF report or eBook. It doesn’t have to be that long as long as it is massively helpful. My buddy Leo of Zen Habits has been known to write a short, very specific, and super helpful eBook inside of a few hours. You might even already have a lot of the content from what you’ve written on your blog, journal or elsewhere. If you have good stuff, use it. Don’t dwell forever on making it super long. Just focus on helping with one specific topic. Package it up and sell it. That’s exactly what I’m doing with how to live off your passion (although mine does happen to be a bit more in-depth).

8. Create a podcast. Put together a talk or interview and put it up with a price on it. Then promote it a bit. Either do this with new content or take your existing work and turn it into audio and upload it to iTunes! Get rich quick schemes don’t get much better than this!

9. Outsource yourself. Showcase your talents. Get a seller’s account on sites like Elance, Odesk and Fiverr.com. Fill out your bio and get your services on the market! Social media is the top emerging channel for online lead generation among technology marketing professionals surveyed in May 2010, according to the annual Unisfair marketing survey. Furthermore, 66% of respondents said online lead generation was their top priority for 2010, with only 17% ranking brand awareness and 16% ranking customer retention as top concerns. The survey illustrated that marketers are beginning to rely on social media as a steady source of new customers.

In another study, 51% of Facebook fans and 67% of Twitter followers said they were more likely to buy the brands they like on Facebook or follow on Twitter, strengthening the argument that social media is one of the most important emerging channels for online lead generation. Being that social media is a great place to attract new customers, we put together a quick guide on how to use social media for online lead generation.

This is how most companies produce advertising today, with variable results. For many advertisers, it’s not working as well as it used to because prospects aren’t paying attention anymore—i.e., they’re not reading print trade publications nearly as often.
